Three medals for Team Poland at the 2026 Skyrunning World Championships
Team Poland won three medals at the 2026 Skyrunning World Championships, held on 18-20 September 2026 on La Gomera (Canary Islands, Spain). Patrycja Stanek won the SKY race (3:20:29) to become world champion, and Dominik Tabor took bronze in SKY (2:46:52) and silver in the combined VERTICAL + SKY ranking.
Bartosz Ligas finished 5th in SKYULTRA (6:46:16), Łukasz Wąchała 5th in SKY (2:49:50) and Miłosz Szcześniewski 10th in SKYULTRA (7:09:26). Dominik Tabor was also 7th in the VERTICAL (38:33). Agnieszka Dygacz did not start - an injury ruled her out.
The ninth edition of the Skyrunning World Championships was held as part of the Gomera Paradise series under the aegis of the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF). Three disciplines were contested: VERTICAL (4.9 km, +950 m, 18 September), SKYULTRA (63 km, +4100 m, 19 September) and SKY (29 km, +1900 m, 20 September) - 27 sets of medals in total.
The six-strong Polish team was selected in the qualification on Babia Góra on 6 June 2026: four athletes were selected on percentage of the time standard and two joined from the reserve list. The team's technical partners were ATTIQ (team kit) and ALE Active Life Energy (sports nutrition).
